It's interesting how love scams have been incorporated the show catfish. I think it doesn't have its place in this show. Usually love scams are used as material on criminal shows. That's where it belongs. With experts in the matter. Here the presentators know nothing about african scammers or love scammers from Asia or whatnot. If they did they would know it is a job in Africa and in Asia. In some countries they are even forced into it by mafias. And telling the guy you get 900$ / month and that's nothing where you are ( which is true) doesn't mean anything to him, where he is maybe people get 2$/ month which is the case in some countries worlwide. It's like when asians or africans move to Europe and life is verry difficult for them and they still have to send money back to their families back home but they cannot complain because back home everything is convinced they reached heaven. When in reality they are treated like sh*t, they work more than any local and have2 to 3 jobs illegally and have to live stuck in tiny appartment rooms with several other room mates with zero intimacy. Some of them the little time they have they get drunk to forget their problems and whatnot. Besides in these other countries there is a sense of community, loneliness is not so much a concept and there is little room for mental health issues. They only can think you are rich or verry stupid if you give your money away to a complete stranger who feeds off your insecurities. Self confident people wouldn't drag this on for ages or ignore redflags. We ignore them when we want to live a little longer in the fantasy of having someone who gives a sh*t about us when deep down we know it's fake. It's a good thing the guy called the show but still he went as far as to buy a ring. That's messed up. Nowadays people know of catfishing or love scams. But he also didn't want to be rejected so he pushed it to the last minute. He needs to love himself more. As for the scammer he laughs because he's nervous. Also he's taking risks revealing the truth. I'm happy he ended this all mascarade so the other guy can move on. I wish we lived in a world in which people don't have to do this to feed their families or one where there is room for this type of scam. My heart goes to everyone since everyone is a kind of victim of the system they live in. Edit: I hadn't finished yet the video when I wrote the 1st part. A/ you can tell the scammer really is sorry because I've seen many scammers and it's verry easy to spot those who are sorry and those who aren't. He was.
